Eric Smart, Managing Principal

Mr. Smart is a founding principal of Bolan Smart Associates, Inc. Prior to that, he was Vice President and Manager of the Washington office of Leggat McCall Advisors, Inc., which was acquired in 1990 to form Bolan Smart Associates. He has over twenty-two years of diversified experience in planning and development practice, with expertise in marketability, valuation, financial analysis, negotiations and strategic planning. His clients have included investors, financial institutions, developers, architects, law firms, major users and government. Before joining Leggat McCall Advisors, Inc. in 1985, Mr. Smart was a senior research associate at ULI - the Urban Land Institute. He was a member of the University of Maryland University College Real Estate Advisory Board and was Chairperson of the Urban Land Institute's District Council for the Washington, DC area for four years. Mr. Smart currently teaches as an adjunct professor in the Master of Science in Real Estate program at Johns Hopkins University. Mr. Smart has a BA in Economics from University of Toronto and a Masters of Urban & Regional Planning from Virginia Polytechnic and State University.


Pamela DuBois, Asset and Community Services Director

Ms. DuBois joined Bolan Smart Associates in December 1999 as a senior associate having spent nine years as a consultant for the E&Y Kenneth Leventhal Real Estate Group (original employer, Kenneth Leventhal, was acquired by Ernst &Young LLP in 1995). Ms. DuBois has experience which includes acquisition / disposition due diligence, strategic planning, market feasibility, asset and portfolio analysis and valuation. A representative sample of clients include the National Cancer Institute, Washington Gas, General Services Administration and Fannie Mae in addition to local universities and municipalities. Ms. DuBois served on the executive committee for the DC Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women for several years and is currently Co-Chair of Case Study Programs for ULI’s District Chapter and is a member of the Executive Committee. Ms. DuBois earned her BA in Internation Relations at Mt. Holyoke College and obtained her Masters in International Finance at George Washington University.


Gregory Otten, Associate

Mr. Otten joined Bolan Smart Associates, Inc. in March 2009 as a realty specialist for GSA focusing on Federal government lease acquisition and assists with feasibility consulting.  Prior to that, he spent one year working for HVS and one year with The Leitner Group conducting full service appraisal reports, one year in the development arena and seven years conducting and managing research operations for CoStar Group. Mr. Otten has a BA in International Affairs from American University.


Julie Brunton, Associate

Julie Brunton has eleven years of research and marketing experience. She spent eight years working in commercial real estate (Asadoorian Retail Solutions and Grubb & Ellis). During that time she assisted brokers with proposals; conducted research in the areas of database maintenance, thematic mapping, and contributed to commercial research reports; created marketing materials, presentations, and supervised marketing staff; and functioned as a business operations manager overseeing marketing materials and facilities.


Kristin Smart, Research Associate

Ms. Kristin Smart has provided a range of research and data analysis services to Bolan Smart over the past five years. Areas of experience include economic consultancy, demographic studies, impact assessments, research methodologies and market investigations. As a BS graduate in economics from Oxford Brookes University and an MS graduate in Population and Development at the London School of Economics, Ms. Smart is available for in-depth research assignments.
